In 2009 I took my first trip to Burkina Faso, Africa. It was an incredibly powerful, heart opening journey. I felt like, for the first time I could exhale. All my life I knew in my bones that it was possible for humans to exist in a way with each other that was truly empowering, life affirming and cooperative. That it was possible to live in such a way that is selfless and for the good of the whole community. When I stepped foot on the African soil I felt that reality. Working with Ancestors

In our culture we mostly refer to Ancestors as family that came before us who are dead now. The Ancestors are more alive than ever and would like to be brought back into the context of our culture. It seems that if we go far enough back into any tradition, the Ancestors are present, alive, breathing in that tradition. What happened here?
